Strategic Planning and Corporate Development

As Strategy Director for Verizon Business Group, Scott's leadership role delivered three key capabilities to the C-Suite - each integral to executing Verizon's immediate and long-term growth strategies.

Market Intelligence, Earning Analysis, BoD Governance

His Market and Competitive Intelligence organization tracked and interpreted movements in Verizon's markets, recommending courses of action to the CEO.  As a Strategy lead for the Fortune 15 company, he coordinated communication and follow through across Finance, Product, Marketing, and the various organizations driving Verizon's Go-To-Market execution.

Scenario Planning, Strategy Leadership

Adding the opportunity to develop the commercial strategies needed to scale Verizon's B2B markets, Scott trained and led a new team of business analysts in scenario and financial planning.  He personally led strategy development for Enterprise, Public Sector, SMB and Wholesale units, defining investment, GTM routes, product positioning and partnership requirements needed for successful implementation.  His growth/defend strategies were implemented globally, influencing capital investment, product development, and the company's partner ecosystem.

Corporate Development, M&A, Partnerships

Building on his successful team development and leadership in planning, Scott took on the Business Group's M&A desk.  Building out a small team of investment bankers, he evaluated over 1,500 properties for acquisition and/or venture investment, shepherding the decision processes across all Verizon executive stakeholders and organizations through process end.

Evaluations encompassed assets in Private Networking, IoT, Cloud, Cybersecurity, AI, Media, Pro Services, and more.  His exploration and due diligence process combines team culture, ability to integrate and scale existing ecosystems, and market forecasting in addition to financial and product fundamentals.

M&A responsibilities organically grew to include strategic partnerships - developed with his successful M&A approach.  This work helped to significantly expand the company's partner programs in Mobility, UCaaS, SIs, Hyperscalers and OEMs.
